The PS3 Super Slim with a DS3 controller for $50 is a great deal whether or not you plan to put HEN on it. Games for it have dropped in price considerably (I see tons of lots being posted, and they come out to about $2-$3 a game). Make sure that it is the model with the 500GB drive, though.

I have a super slim (the last models produced) and I've been really happy with it. It definitely uses the least power out of all models and to my recollection it may even be much quieter than certainly the fat ps3s, but also the other slims. since you are using hen, i recommend to set webmans's fan settings to manual 40%. you can watch the temps from your phone or pc by typing your ps3's IP followed by "/cpursx.ps3". if the temps stay below 70 when playing games, then you are okay at 40%. I think the super slim came out in 2013, whereas slim version came out 2009. obviously slims were also manufactured after 2009 but I don't know when they stopped manufacturing them. The super slim bluray drive is pretty loud due to the sliding disk tray, but isn't much of a problem when you're playing games with sound on the TV.
I read the wiki page for installing homebrew on the PS3, though I have some questions about the Super Slim. So, PS3HAN can be installed as a backup loader, but can packages be installed as well on the Super Slim? Or is PS3HAN on Super Slim limited to game backups only?
